Land Rover: England's Real Passion

2008 International Automotive Advertising Awards Interactive: Gold
2008 Sports Industry Group Awards Viral: Finalist
Land Rover sponsor English rugby at grassroots level and asked us to highlight this with a film. The bigger challenge was to elevate it higher than O2’s multi-million sponsorship of the England rugby squad - with a budget of just £70k.
Thankfully, Josh Lewsey, the England fullback and wing player, was the face of Land Rover's sponsorship so we could use him. The film had to generate controversy, and we made sure it did. It was shown on BBC1's Football Focus, and Sky's Soccer AM, and for several years, it played before England's home games at Twickenham.

What started as a viral film ended up as a TV commercial - shown in its entirety on the BBC’s Football Focus, followed by a two-minute debate. Sky Sports also showed the complete film on their Saturday morning football show, Soccer A.M. This was valuable, free national airtime.

We supported the film with a microsite and online advertising that people could interact with. While the site no longer exists, the film still continues to attract views and comments online.
